Amazon’s Kindle Short Reads – Top 100 charts

As I mentioned in a previous blog post, US are doing something new with short fiction: they now have Kindle Short Read categories in the Kindle store. Both my shorter stories are in the charts, but for the moment, Amazon don’t have charts for them to be in.

Let me explain what I mean by that. At Amazon, in a category such as Sword and Sorcery, you can find the Top 100 List. Amazon do two lists per category: Top 100 Paid and Top 100 Free. But currently, for the Kindle Short Reads , they only have one type of list: the Top 100 Paid.

So, though Another Side of Destiny is right now at:

#62 in Kindle Store > Kindle Short Reads > 30 minutes (12-21 pages) > Science Fiction & Fantasy

and Clay for Ellen is at:

#43 in Kindle Store > Kindle Short Reads > 15 minutes (1-11 pages) > Science Fiction & Fantasy

you can only tell that by looking at the two books’ individual web pages. If you follow the links above through to the Top 100 lists you won’t find the stories, because both stories are free.

I imagine that Amazon will probably do a top 100 Free list for their Kindle Short Reads, but this looks like it’s for the future.
