Seven fact(oids) about the best time to blog

Now, I’m a “blogger”, I got to wondering when is the best time to publish a blog post, and then, what do I mean by best. By best I thought I must mean more people will read my posts, and more people will like what they read. Then I read around the web. And now: I’m very confused.
The problem is there are lots more bests than I’d thought of. There’s even a “science of social timing“. Who knew?
Does best mean comments? Does it mean blog views? Links? Er…?
Best for women or men or both? Um…?

Let me sprinkle some factoids, to further confuse (from here):
“The highest percentage of users read blog posts in the morning.
“A higher percentage of men than women read blogs in the evening and at night.
“The average blog gets more traffic on Monday than any other day of the week.
“The average blog peaks in traffic around 11am Eastern Time.
“The average blog gets more comments and engagement on Saturday.
“The average blog receives the most inbound links on Monday and Thursday.
“The average blog receives most inbound links at 7am Eastern Time.”

You know, this all seems really bad news if you want to blog and you’re not really a morning person 😦
But Thursday morning is good and, hey, right now it’s Thursday morning!
I’m posting this now!

P.S. Are you really reading this at 7am EST? Please, don’t! Please, go back to sleep. Doctors say it’s good for you. 🙂

  1. Agreed! I think the only reason why I blog in the morning is because I am already awake — it’s kind of crazy though how much more vivid my imagination is at 7 am versus 7 pm??? But when you become completely addicted to blogging — it wont matter what time of day it is! You’ll have thoughts running rampant at all hours!! GOOD LUCK! I’ll be following! S.
